Ryan Albachten works as retail manager for Pouncing Rain’s retail shop, as well as instructor in the teaching studio. She studied with Judith Gaulthier for several years before joining the staff at Pouncing Rain and opening her own small jewelry line. She says, “Even as a small child, I was interested in many forms of adornment. I have been making jewelry with different materials since my teens. Great inspiration came through my cousin who taught me some basics with wire and helped me discover my love of metals, vintage/antique glass and unusual stones. My creative passions definitely run in the family as my father is also a metalworker and mobile artist. After many years of collecting vintage and antique glass, semiprecious stones and beads, I finally picked up a torch and went to work. I am PMC (Precious Metal Clay) Certified and have taken many metalworking classes. I am inspired by nature, the night sky, music that gets your pulse moving, hammers, anatomy, bits of found goodness, and my children.”
