Judith has worked professionally as an artist and silversmith since 1972. Her education in this field began while working for the Alaskan Silver & Ivory Co. in Bellingham, WA. This enriching experience inspired her to pursue a degree in Art Education with an emphasis in metalwork at the University of Montana, Missoula. For the past 30 years, Judith has worked for numerous jewelry manufacturers, including Jody Coyote and Spectrum Metalworks, both in Eugene, OR., and has produced her own Pouncing Rain jewelry line selling wholesale to shops, galleries, and museums throughout the U.S.
Pouncing Rain Metal Center was born in 2003 out of a deep love for this rewarding craft and a desire to pass on her knowledge to others so that they too can find joy and satisfaction in working with metal. “I am continually awed when I see students get hooked on this medium. It serves as a wonderful, inspiring, ongoing expression for our creative spirits. I am very fortunate to be a part of it."
